Ron Faust and his wife, Gail, reside in Cross Plains where they are members of St. Francis Xavier Parish and where they raised three children. Ron and Gail are both Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and Gail is a Sacristan while Ron is a member of the Choir and is a Mass Server, both in his home parish and in the parish of your State Chaplain, the Very Reverend Father Richard (Rick) Heilman.
Ron is an active, insurance member of Father Inama Council 3924 in Cross Plains and he is a member of Tri-County Assembly 1948. He has served as his council’s Recorder and Grand Knight, and he has served on the State Level as Respect Life Coordinator for three years, as State Warden for two years, as State Advocate for two years, as State Treasurer for two years and as State Deputy for two years. At the end of his second year Wisconsin was awarded the prestigious designation of Circle of Honor, in recognition of several outstanding achievements by Wisconsin’s Knights that fraternal year.
As Grand Knight, Ron led the charge to turn his Councils financial situation around to where they are now on very good footing. He also took a leadership role in their Pro-Life Activities, which were recognized as meriting second place worldwide in the Community Programs category for the 2004-2005 fraternal year.
The Faust Family has received the Council Family of the Month and Family of the Year Awards and Ron has been Knight of the Month and Knight of the Year. He has also served as Trustee and 1st Degree Team Member.
As the State Respect Life Coordinator, Ron, with the help of the State KC Respect Life Team, spearheaded the first of its kind Post Abortion Healing Conference in Wisconsin which brought together two giants of this Ministry: Wisconsin’s own Vicki Thorn of Project Rachel and Kevin and Dr. Theresa Burke of Rachel’s Vineyard. It was this conference that is credited with bringing Father Frank Pavone, the founder and director of Priests for Life, to Wisconsin to speak at the State Deputy’s Banquet of the 105th Convention of the Wisconsin State Council of the Knights of Columbus in Wisconsin Dells. He also oversaw the development of a state-of-the-art objective scoring system for judging applications for grants from the State Respect Life Fund.
Ron has enjoyed his time serving his Brother Knights as a State Officer, including as co-chairman of the 2010 and 2012 State Conventions. As IPSD he remains a member of the State Officer Team and has been charged with oversight of the Madison Diocese. In addition, he has been appointed by State Deputy Timothy Guski to fill the position of District Deputy for District 44, and has accepted the challenge of leading the charge for membership in Wisconsin as the State Membership Director.
