State Warden: SK John A Booth

Fulfilling a childhood dream, Brother Knight John Booth joined the Knights of Columbus in November of 2000, becoming a member of St Croix Council 1762 in Hudson. Within a week of joining the order, John was fully knighted as a 3rd Degree Knight. John immediately became active within the council chairing and volunteering at council events. In July of 2001, John was appointed Lecturer to fulfill an open term. While attending the fourth degree, John decided he wanted more and announced his decision to become Deputy Grand Knight. Two years later in 2004, John was elected Grand Knight. During his first year as Grand Knight, St Croix Council won Star Council. Following his two-year term as Grand Knight, John served six years as a council trustee. Brother John also has the honor of being the first ever recipient of the Shining Armor Award in St Croix Council 1762.
In October of 2001, John was Knighted a Sir Knight when he joined the fourth degree. John is a member of Lawrence Gherty Assembly 1947 in New Richmond were he has served as an Outer Sentinel, and is active in the Honor Guard.
After completing his term as Grand Knight, John felt a “higher Calling” within the order, and became the State Columbian Squires Coordinator. During his time as Squires Coordinator, Brother John brought the squires program back from the brink of extinction within the state, and chartered 8 new circles. John served as the Squires Coordinator for four years. While still serving as the Squires Coordinator, John became the Country Store Manager, a position he would hold for four years before his next opportunity came along.
Having wanted to become a District Deputy, John was faced with a hard choice when that opportunity finally came. There was an opening for a District Deputy, but John would have to transfer out of St Croix Council as the District was in another Diocese. This was an easy choice and John, and he became District Deputy for District 21. Just as he was being appointed, news came of a new council within his district, so John also became a charter member of Plum City/Arkansaw Council 15739 where he served as a Trustee as well as the Interim Grand Knight. Brother John served District as DD for three years before being elected as State Warden at the State Convention in the Wisconsin Dells in April 2016.
John is active in St Patrick Parish in Hudson where he serves as an Usher, Lecturer, and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
John and his wife Peg have been married for 15 years, and live in River Falls.
