We are all prayerfully thankful for Bill Byrnes’ continued improvement and mourn the loss of Brother Michael “Moochie” Fahey. While at the wake I was surprised to learn from Diane Donovan that Moochie was a first cousin to John
Daylight is with us which mean more hours of the day and pitchers and catchers are reporting to their respective teams. By the time the next Smile is published, daffodils and tulips will be in bloom and we will be considering whether to
mow the lawn. The arctic vortexes are a shivering memory.

You Brother Knights who have taken the First Degree are invited, urged to progress through the Second and Third
Degrees during the Major Degree Exemplification on Palm Sunday, April 14th in St. Christina School
Hall. Experiencing the advanced degrees provided me with a deeper understanding and appreciation of
our order and our Catholic Faith.

exemplification on February 16th.Thanks to Sir Knight and Worthy Chancellor Matt Stevens for securing a bus for transit to and from the Sheraton Lisle and for hustling the football squares to help Faithful Navigator Ed Ulrich
fund the hospitality suite for Holy Family Assembly #2255.
The Illinois State Officers invite us to join them at the 121st Illinois State Convention, April 26-28,
2019, at the Wyndham Springfield City Centre Hotel, in Springfield. I have reserved a double room for
representatives from Father Perez. State Advocate Jeffery J Peters has also called for resolutions
from councils to be considered by convention delegates for their consensus and action. Resolutions
are formal statements or opinions that members, through their councils, can express and present matters of importance to
convention delegates. Resolutions span a continuum from State Council Budget concerns to congratulating councils for their
anniversaries to recognitions of appreciation to the clergy. Please let me know if you are inclined to consider a resolution for the state convention.
