Sir Knights,

An Honor Guard is requested following the final Mass at St Galls, Shannon St., Elburn, on June 25, at 3pm.

At about 4:20, Fr. DiTomo will have a short period of prayer, and the sanctuary lamp will be extinguished.

The Honor Guard will process out at that point to add solemnity to Our Lord leaving the church for the last time.

Procession (1.5 miles on Rte 47) should take about 20 minutes. We will also be singing Eucharistic hymns with any choir members who would like to make the journey.

We will have servers with candles (though the flames will most likely blow out right away) and incense.

About 4:40p we arrive at Hughes Road church and if the Honor Guard did not join the procession, the Honor Guard will be there to solemnly welcome the procession.

So basically, the Honor Guard will either process, from the Shannon St Church, with Fr DiTomo and the Blessed Sacrament or meet the procession at the Hughes Rd Church for the solemn welcoming.

Vivat Jesus,
